How to Install a Car Alarm in a Nissan Sentra
Installing a car alarm on the Nissan Sentra is a great way to protect the car and save money on insurance. Installing an alarm on the Nissan Sentra is easier than many models but still requires a working knowledge of car electronics and connections. Adding a remote start option offers convenience and is available on many alarm kits.

Read the alarm manual carefully and identify all of the parts and connections. Pop the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable.

Mount the alarm siren in an open area under the hood and face it towards the engine. Connect the alarm power wire to the positive battery cable and run all of the wires to the driver's side of the firewall. Feed the wires into the cabin through the engine wire hole.

Install the shock sensor per the manufacturer's instructions and run the wires under the dash. Drill a small hole in the dash or center console for the LED light and snap it into place.

Locate the door lock relay next to the fuse box if the car is equipped and attach the alarm lock module. Identify the starter wire in the ignition bundle and connect the start disable relay.

Connect all of the wires to the alarm control module. Secure the control module as far into the dash as possible with zip ties. The more difficult the control module is to install the better.

Reconnect the positive battery cable and test the alarm. Adjust the alarm sensitivity level as needed and secure any loose wires with zip ties.
