The Dodge Intrepid is available in model years from 1994 to 2004. When you own one of these, you can easily replace a blown fuse yourself. The process is the same for replacing a fuse on any year of Dodge Intrepid.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fuse puller
  • Replacement fuse
  1. Step 1

Shut off your car before working with the fuses. Find your fuse box, located on the driver's side of the dashboard.

  2. Step 2

Open the fuse box by pulling it. Look at the inside cover to find out the location of the fuse you need.

  3. Step 3

Remove the fuse with a fuse puller or gently use your fingers. Inspect the inside wire–if it's blown the wire is either melted or broken.

  4. Step 4

Replace the blown fuse with one of the same rating. You can find this information written on the inside of the fuse cover. For example, a 1997 Dodge Intrepid uses a 10-amp mini fuse for its back up lights.

  5. Step 5

Close the fuse box and restart your Intrepid. Verify your electrical issue has been resolved.

Tips & Warnings
  • There is a second fuse box for more major fuses in the engine compartment. If the fuse you need is not in the passenger compartment, check there next.
