Step 1
Head Lice:
This is the most common type of lice. Although it can be on any hairs of the body and or face, head lice have a tendency to infest the body through an infected carpet, stuffed animal, linen, beds, sharing of any clothing or clothing accessories, combs or brushes of an infected person. It attaches to the scalp of the head, around the hairline and behind the ears. Transmission of head lice does not occur because someone is dirty and cannot be transmitted from animals. -

Body Lice:
Body lice infestation is serious, but not life threatening. It can be transmitted from body to body contact. Homeless people who do not have the ability to change clothes often are most susceptible to body lice. -
Step 3
Pubic Lice:
This type of lice live on the pubic hairs of a woman and member of a man. It can easily be transmitted from person to person during intimacy and is often is categorize as a type of Sexually Transmitted Disease. Very rarely is it transmitted through bed linen or person to person contact. Suspicion of child abuse should be had if a child appears to have this type of lice on their genitals. -
