Homemade snowman dolls make a cute refrigerator decoration that is fun to play with. It's also visually appealing. You and your child will both look forward to the shorter days and cooler nights of winter. That's because the holidays are when it's time to get out this seasonal craft and put it on the fridge. You can add to the wardrobe of your snowman or snow woman any time you like. Yes, make it an ever expanding art and design project.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Trace three circles. Place one on top of the other on the white poster. This will be the snowman's body. Make sure that the edges of the circles are touching. Use the water glass for the bottom two circles. The slightly smaller juice glass is a good fit for his head.

  2. Step 2

Color your snowman. Draw on his face and any "underwear" or coal buttons that might go under his clothes. Give him two thick brown stick arms. Make sure that you will be able to cut the arms out.

  3. Step 3
If you wish, you can use different pieces and colors of construction paper together to make the clothing more elaborate.

Draw various items of clothing on different colors of construction paper. You might draw a black hat, a red scarf, a yellow jacket, or a green shirt. Decorate them with the markers. Make sure that they are size proportionate to your snowman.

  4. Step 4

Cut out the snowman and his clothes. Be very careful to cut smooth, even lines.

  5. Step 5

Attach flat magnets to the back of the snowman and his clothes. Flat picture magnets have a sticky side that will adhere to the paper. If you use ceramic magnets, you will need glue to hold them in place.

  6. Step 6

Place your snowman on the refrigerator. Start dressing him up.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use sequins, rhinestones, beads or glitter glue for a fancy snowman. Maybe he secretly dreams of being a rock star!
  • Don't let small children do the cutting. Keep scissors away from small children. Let him do the drawing, and you can do the cutting.
