PowerPoint prints notes below a placeholder when you print your slides in Notes Page view. You can create notes for your PowerPoint documents and even add charts, pictures or diagrams to them to place emphasis on certain items. This guide will show you how to create notes for your PowerPoint documents.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your PowerPoint program and access the document you will be editing. Click on the menu bar and choose “View”, then “Notes page.” An area is displayed that allows text to be entered into your notes area.

  2. Step 2

Choose “Format,” then “Notes Layout” on the menu bar. The notes layout box is displayed. It allows you to add or remove the slide image or body text placeholder from the page, or to reapply the Notes Master.

  3. Step 3

Choose “Format,” then “Notes Background” to edit the background or color scheme of the page. In the “Notes page” view, click the slide or body text placeholder to change the size or delete them.

  4. Step 4

Click the body text placeholder. Click on the menu bar and choose “Insert,” then choose from the list if you want to insert one of the listed objects, such as a picture, chart or table.

  5. Step 5

Click on the menu bar and choose “File,” then “Print preview.” Select “Notes pages” from the “Print What” list to view how your notes pages will print with the graphics or background you chose. Click “Close” to return to normal view.
