Reclining Bound Angle Pose, or Supta Baddha Konasana, is a restorative pose that stretches your knees and hips while calming your body and mind. It can be practiced with or without props, like eye pillows, bolsters or blocks. Reclining Bound Angle should be practiced toward the end of a vigorous home yoga practice, between the seated forward bends and the inversions. If you are doing a restorative routine, it can be practiced any time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Pillow
  1. Step 1

Set up a large pillow for your back and a block or other implement to rest your head on.

  2. Step 2

Sit on your mat with your sitting bones rooting into the floor and your legs extended in front of you. Imagine a line of light running from the base of your spine through the crown of your head.

  3. Step 3

Bring your heels toward your pelvis and lower your bent knees to the floor. As you sit up straight, your heels should be touching.

  4. Step 4

Recline onto your pillow and blocks. Place an eye pillow over your eyes if you are doing a restorative routine.

  5. Step 5

Stay in the position for 1 to 3 minutes.
