How to Insert Auto Text into Microsoft Word 2003

Of the many great features that are currently offered in the 2003 version of Microsoft Word, many users find the auto text feature to be priceless. It allows for the easy insertion of commonly used salutations, dates and other phrases, saving the user time that he would otherwise have to spend on typing out that same text.

      Click on the area of the document where you wish to insert auto text.

      Scroll to the “Insert” tab and select “Auto Text.”

      Choose the desired auto text. Under the auto text properties box to the left, there is a list of commonly used auto text phrases that you can choose from. Click on the desired text to select it.

      Insert the auto text into the document. Click on the “Insert” button to add the text to the document.
