How to Enjoy City Walk at Universal Studios

City Walk is an entertainment complex at Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida. Spread over a 30-acre tract, this complex offers live music, restaurants, movies, dancing, night clubs and a variety of special events. Some of the most popular attractions are the Blue Man Group Theater, Hard Rock Live and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Restaurant. Although it's on the Universal Studios property, you can enjoy the complex attractions without purchasing a theme park admission.

      Dine at one of the restaurants at City Walk. With more than a dozen dining choices at City Walk, you’ll have no problem finding something to eat. You can choose from New Orleans-style fare at Emeril Lagasse’s, Latin-America inspired dishes at the Latin Quarter Restaurant or even a cheeseburger in paradise at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. You can even satisfy your need for sweets at Cinnabon or get your fix of caffeine at Starbucks.

      Take in some nighttime entertainment. At City Walk you can choose from many entertainment options including live music concerts, comedy clubs, movies, karaoke, a dueling piano bar or the ever-popular Blue Man Group. Start at one of the clubs for some live music, and work your way through the complex during the evening.

      Shop ‘til you drop. Like most theme parks, Universal’s City Walk has its share of shopping options. You can browse through a variety of clothing stores, a surf shop, cigar bar and even a tattoo studio. The Endangered Species Store offers a vast array of stuffed animals and other gifts that your kids will love. There are also many kiosk vendors throughout the complex offering sunglasses, candy and many other goodies.

      Check out one of the special events at City Walk. In addition to weekly events such as S.O.B. Fridays at Pat O'Brien's, Girls' Night Out at the Red Coconut Club and Teen Nights at the Groove, City Walk also offers many special events throughout the year. Check out TV show tapings in the outdoor theater, live concerts by major artists and several festivals.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get started early to avoid the restaurant crowds at dinner time.

  • For more popular restaurants such as Emerils or the Hard Rock Cafe, book reservations in advance.

  • City Walk is open until 2 a.m.

  • Although there is no admission to get into City Walk, they do charge for parking.

  • No ID, no alcohol. Be sure to bring your valid ID.
