Halloween is always exciting for the kids as they dress up and go trick or treating, but what about the adults? Scary movies have now become a part of the celebration. Holding a Halloween film night can be fun with the right movies, activities and food.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scary movies
  • Fun food
  • Halloween decorations
  1. Step 1

Pick out scary movies. Have at least three to five for your guests to pick from or choose three and decide the order to play them. When picking your movies, choose a theme.Choose Jamie Lee Curtis movies and begin with the classic "Halloween," about a psychotic murderer who goes on a rampage after escaping from a mental hospital. Rent the three "Scream" movies, starring Courtney Cox and David Arquette, about a psychopathic killer who is after a group of teens.Try "Friday the 13th," about the game of killing the camp counselor, or "Nightmare on Elm Street." Top it off with "Freddy vs. Jason."If you're looking for really ridiculous plots, try "Braindead"--about the dead mother who comes back and eats the neighbors and friends.

  2. Step 2

Ask trivia questions about the classic scary movies between movies. Make the prizes novelty Halloween gifts like a ghost mug.

  3. Step 3

Plan your food around a Halloween horror. Make Bloody Marys for drinks. You can add the alcohol or not. Decorate a cake with orange and black frosting. Make cookies that look like tombstones. Make a green dip for crackers.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the house with cobwebs and props from the movies you'll be watching. Pick up paper plates and napkins at a local discount party store or use orange and black dishes. Drape the table with a black cloth and add orange candlesticks. Lower the lights and use candles instead. Play eerie music between movies.

  5. Step 5

Halloween should be a time of fun and laughter, not to be taken seriously. Be creative and have fun. Enjoy the movies and don't get scared!
