How to Make a Candy Corn Clay Pot
Fill this cute candy corn clay pot with candy corn or your favorite Halloween candy and set it within easy reach on an end table or kitchen counter. Things You'll Need
- 4-inch clay pot
- White acrylic paint
- Orange acrylic paint
- Yellow acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Clear acrylic sealer
- Fine-line black permanent marker
- Sponge brush
- Paint brush
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Toothpick

Paint a coat of white acrylic paint over the entire surface of the clay pot, inside and out. This coat will serve as a primer coat. Allow the paint to dry.

Repeat step 1 until complete coverage is achieved.

Measure up from the bottom of the clay pot 1 inch. Draw a light pencil line, at this measurement, around the pot.

Paint yellow acrylic paint below this line and the bottom of the clay pot. Repeat with additional coats until the yellow is completely covered. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly between each coat.

Paint orange acrylic paint above the yellow stripe, to the bottom edge of the rim on the clay pot. Repeat with additional coats of orange until complete coverage is achieved. Allow to dry thoroughly between coats.

Paint the inside, outside and bottom of the candy corn clay pot with clear acrylic sealer. Allow the sealer to dry.

Write "Trick or Treat" on the front of the candy corn clay pot. Dip the tip of a toothpick into black acrylic paint and dip dot the ends and intersections of each letter. Allow the paint to dry.

Draw a wavy line and three dots, repeatedly, around the top edge of the white stripe on the candy corn. Repeat the wavy line and three dots on the bottom edge of the white stripe of the candy corn.

Repeat step 8 on the orange stripe of the candy corn clay pot.

Repeat step 8 on the yellow stripe of the candy corn clay pot.

Tips & Warnings
Even though this project is easy, it is not recommended as a kid craft. The drying time involved after each painting step takes too long and it would take repeated classes to finish each step. The steps themselves are not long enough to fill a class.
Using a much larger clay pot, this pot would make a great candy pot for handing out candy at the door.
