Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Backpack or diaper bag
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Burp cloths
  • Pacifier
  • Clothes
  • Blanket
  • Ointment
  • Garbage bags
  • Bottles
  • Nipples
  • Bandages
  • Acetaminophen
  1. Step 1

Choose a back pack or spare diaper bag that won’t be missed. Sometimes hospitals give new parents complimentary diaper bags after giving birth that may have been thrown by the wayside. The emergency bag doesn’t have to be fancy as it will spend most of its time in the trunk.

  2. Step 2

Fill the emergency baby bag with all of the essentials such as diapers, wipes and a spare set of clothes.

  3. Step 3

Consider what might be needed if you were in a car accident or stuck in gridlock for a long period of time such as trash bags for dirty diapers, formula, bottles and nipples.

  4. Step 4

Keep emergency supplies such as band-aids, ointment and acetaminophen on hand.

  5. Step 5

Be prepared for spit-ups and messes by keeping anti-bacterial cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer in the emergency bag.

  6. Step 6

Be sure to update the emergency bag on a regular basis to accommodate your growing baby. Keep in mind that the diapers and clothes should be the right size and the medicine should not have expired.
