How to Make a Snowman Head Gourd Decoration

Do you need the perfect decoration for your table or porch this Christmas season? A snowman head gourd is an ideal craft project for you. Made out of dried gourds and other basic materials, these adorable items look good both in and out of your home.

Things You'll Need

• Gourds
• Cotton balls
• White, orange and black craft paint
• Small Santa hat
• 2 wiggly craft eyes
• Hot glue gun
• Paintbrushes
• White craft glue

Instructions

1. Paint the entire gourd with white craft paint. Let all of the paint dry before moving on to the next step.

2. Shred several cotton balls into thin threads and set them off to the side. You want the cotton balls to be thin enough to see through.

3. Place a circle of hot glue around the top of your painted gourd, below the stem.

4. Press the small Santa hat onto the circle of hot glue to secure it to your gourd.

5. Apply a thin layer of white craft glue to the entire surface of the gourd, using a paintbrush.

6. Press the thin wispy pieces of cotton balls that you shredded earlier into the white craft glue. This forms a snow-like surface for your snowman head.

7. Hot-glue two wiggly craft eyes to the front of your snowman head.

8. Use orange craft paint to make a small, carrot-shaped nose on the snowman head, and black paint to make a mouth below the nose.

Tips & Warnings

• Use glitter on the surface of your snowman head to give it a sparkly look.
