How to Nake Yarn From Old T-Shirts

  • Scissors
  • Old T-shirt
  • Invisible-ink pen
  • Ruler

Instructions

      Lay the old T-shirt flat.

      Cut off the bottom hem of the shirt.

      With the invisible ink pen and ruler, draw diagonal lines 1 inch apart along the front and back of the shirt. The lines should run into each other and create a spiral.

      Cut along the lines. If you're feeling brave, you can also skip the lines when cutting the T-shirt in a spiral.

      Roll the strip vertically so that it creates a thin jersey yarn. Your T-shirt yarn is ready for knitting or crocheting.
