How to Draw Gothic Symbols
Gothic symbols can be used to adorn anything from a pair of pants to a laptop skin or a real skin tattoo. You can make these symbols with simple materials and an attention to detail. Repeating the same image is also an effective way to use these symbols in fashion, online or in bedroom decor. Create these images using white on black or black on white. While being Goth is about individuality, there are certain graphic depictions that Goths recognize. Here's how to draw some of the staples.

1
Add spiderwebs to the corners of drawings or writing. Draw a wide letter "U." Start another "U" where the first one ended. Repeat four or five times to create the center of the spiderweb. Extend each point into a straight line. Make the web as big or as small as you like. Draw small arcs between the extensions to complete the spiderweb.

2
Create a heart shape. Add wings to the heart, or draw a sword through the heart. Embellish the heart with a tear or a rip, or draw drops of blood to symbolize a broken heart.

Draw a square. Divide the square into four parts. In one of the top squares, develop a Gothic illustration by using the spade symbol from a deck of cards. Add stems, leaves and petals that look as if they are made of metal. Repeat the design in the other three squares.

Complete any drawing of these Gothic symbols by drawing over the pencil with ink. Erase the visible pencil marks after the ink is dry.
