Step 1

SAVINGS: Value is 50% more than earned dollars. Investing a few dollars into a CD (certificate of deposit), mutual funds or savings account can add up. So don't be afraid to set up a few bank accounts, especially if they have matching funds or incentives to open account. Look for incentive programs.
Step 2

BANK JOINING OFFERS: Check your mail and make some calls.

In direct mail: Chase just offered $100.00
Bank of America has add 5 friends for 50 bucks
Sunwest credit union gives up to 50 bucks for referrals

Don't overlook credit card offers if you are a disciplined person. Sometimes these will be free rewards or money back on expenditures. Satellite/cable company have refer a friend offers at times.

Step 3

BANKS SPARE CHANGE PROGRAMS: Programs to encourage savings. Check out Bank of America. They round up your spending on debit card and deposit the change into your savings acct. Nifty way to go. They match the change up to a certain dollar amount.

Take in a JAR of coin and they will sort and convert it to dollars for you free of charge.

Look for programs for your kids too. You can be cosigner and they will learn money on their savings too. Wells Fargo has some good programs. Your local credit union may have awesome kids program. It is an easy way to teach them the best ways to save money. Regular, consistent contribution.
Step 4

REFERRALS: You can earn up to 500.00 with some of these programs. Of course you have to give social security number for tax purposes but it is still great way to go. Save money on gas by banking and spending online.
Try Paypal, or Revolution for online payments. Online place like ING or Watchovia will often offer referral dollars.
Step 5

SPARE CHANGE: You can find money in couches, cars, telephone booths and spare change returns. I found wheat penny in Coinstar machine. Read article in resource box about finding money on the ground. It may just shock you!
Step 6

TEMPORARY JOBS: You can sign up as a day laborer, or as an office worker at a temp agency (wont' pay today but within a week or two).

Other types of substitute work are teachers, aides, dental assistants etc. If you don't have the skills consider schooling for trades that take 1-2 years to complete. This may be a longer term solution than most of the other suggestions but maybe something to consider for future.

Step 7

SELL: Another way to earn money today or to earn it quickly is to sign up with ebay.com or craigslist.com or etsy.com and start selling items you no longer need. Don't just throw them away. This will also help your kids learn to value their things. Ask relatives to donate unused items.

Quicker solution are consignment and pawn shops. Car title loan or payday loans are available but can be a trap. They are very last resort if relatives cannot help. Financial Responsible you must e to take on those loan.
Step 8

HOME WORK: Start service jobs such as dog walking or babysitting.

MISC SOURCES OF INCOME:
My favorite is to return the things I bought that I really can't use or haven't returned yet. Even without a receipt I can exchange for other needed items or food available at that store.

Participate in survey's or health studies

Rent out a room if you own your home or Newspaper delivery route! Pizza Delivery you start making tips right away.

Read my other articles in one I mention that railroad tie could bring in big bucks if you have certificate from railroad. Be creative and use your imagination.
Step 10

BLACKMAIL: One last way to get some money fast. Blackmail. Oh well, I guess desperation does have its limits.
