As autumn rolls around, you may want to look for different ways to accent the rooms of your home. A bathroom can be decorated with the colors of the fall season and a few pumpkins can tie it all together. But you do not have to go to the pumpkin farm to get pumpkins. You can cover your unsightly toilet paper rolls with orange fabric and turn them into pretty decorative pumpkins. The project is easy and affordable, and you can make a pumpkin toilet paper roll cover in minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Individual rolls of toilet paper
  • Orange fabric cut into twenty four inch squares
  • Scissors
  • Fake ivy vines
  1. Step 1

Purchase individual rolls of toilet paper, in any color. The color of the toilet paper will not matter because it will be completely disguised by the autumn pumpkin cover.

  2. Step 2

Cut a piece of fabric 24 inches wide by 24 inches long with your scissors. The square of fabric should be the customary orange denoting the color of a pumpkin, or if you so choose, you want to use an orange fabric with small prints on it. The choice is yours, but do try to stick with an orange background or autumn pattern.

  3. Step 3

Place the roll of toilet paper in the exact center of the fabric square. Pull up on the ends of the fabric and tuck them into the hole in the center of the toilet paper roll. Continue until all of the fabric’s ends are tucked into the center hole.

  4. Step 4

Cut approximately 6 inches of the fake ivy vine, and place it in the center hole in the top of your pumpkin. This will be for the pumpkin’s stem and leaves. You can use other types of fake vines as well, as long as they have an autumn feel to them.

  5. Step 5

Continue the above steps to cover the rest of your toilet paper rolls. A bunch of rolls placed in the same area can look like a little pumpkin patch!

Tips & Warnings
  • This project can also be made to suit other seasons and holidays. For instance, using red fabric instead of orange can turn your toilet paper rolls into apples instead. Be creative and think of other ways to decorate your toilet paper rolls.
