How to Adopt a Polar Bear

In recent years, the polar bear population is being reduced. Their ice habitat is dwindling and they need human help to stay alive. Adopting a polar bear can be a rewarding and unique experience. You can help them maintain their way of life by donating money to their cause. It is a simple task to be able to assist these creatures, so generations can enjoy what they bring to the world.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the World Wildlife Fund website (see Resources). The home page explains their organization, species they help and information about their missions. Read all the facts provided so you can understand everything that they are trying to accomplish.

    • 2

Click on "Species." This is located on the menu bar on top of the homepage. A new page will appear.

    • 3

Click on the "Polar Bear" picture. This is at the bottom of the page. You will now be at the "Polar bear facts." Here you can read information about the polar bears. This includes background, habitat and physical facts.

    • 4

Click on "Adopt Now." On the left-hand side of the page, you will see a box that says, "Adopt a Polar Bear." This is where you will need to go.

    • 5

Explore the adoption sections. You can choose from a $250 gift to a $25 gift. Each one has special incentives that come with the donation. These vary by the amount you wish to spend. However, with each one of these, you will receive a picture and an adoption certificate.

    • 6

Pick the amount that you wish to donate. You will see a box with "Quantity" next to it. Type in how many of the item you wish to purchase.

    • 7

Click on "Add Items to Cart." This is on the right-hand side of the page.

    • 8

Click on "Checkout." You will need to fill out your credit card and personal information. Then click on "Submit." Within two weeks, your incentives should arrive. If you do not feel comfortable with giving your credit card information over the Internet, you can call the WWF at (800) 225-5993. They can place your donation quickly over the phone.
