Here's how add options and customize your Finder windows in Mac OS X.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click on the Desktop in order to select the Finder.

  2. Step 2

    Under the File menu, select New Finder Window, or press the command and N key at the same time. A new finder window will appear.

  3. Step 3

    With the Finder Window open, go to the View menu. Select Customize Toolbar.

  4. Step 4

    A window appears that says "Drag your favorite items into the toolbar."

  5. Step 5

    Drag the icons you would like to use onto the top silver bar of the finder window. Customize the window until works toward your liking.

  6. Step 6

    Remove items by dragging them onto the "Drag your favorite items into the toolbar" window until a little cloud appears under your mouse.
