How to Make Halloween Candle Silhouettes
Halloween is a great time to decorate the house up. You can create a spooky effect with these candle silhouettes. Use templates or create your own scaredy cat shapes, creepy pumpkins or eerie ghosts and watch as the shapes dance across the walls when the candles are lit. These are sure to be a treat for all your guests. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 8 1/2- inch by 11-inch black card stock paper
- Templates (see resources below)
- Utility knife
- 18 gauge wire, 12 inches in length
- Pliers
- Masking tape
- Glass candle holder
- Candle
Instructions

Print out the templates listed in the Resource section (below) or make your own designs on white computer paper.

Lay the templates on the black card stock paper.

Cut the shapes out of the black card stock paper using the utility knife.

Tape one end of the wire to the back of the shape.

Bend the other end of the wire into a loop big enough to fit around the bottom of the glass candle holder.

Set the candle holder into the wire loop and place on a table.

Bend the wire until the black shape is behind the candle holder.

Place the candle in the candle holder and light.

Tips & Warnings
Make several of these and group together on a table for added effect.
Design different shapes for different seasons like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Be sure the candle is lower than the candle holder so it doesn't catch the paper shape on fire.
Do not leave the candle unattended while lit.
