You will learn carefree steps on how to potty train.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An exciting attitude
  • Stickers
  • Something to put the stickers on
  • potty chair
  • underwear
  1. Step 1

You will first realize when your child is ready to potty train, when they start to tell you that they are wet. You might also notice their actions; example: grabbing or tugging at self. The first thing you must do is find the right potty chair.

  2. Step 2

Buy underwear - it helps if it is one of their favorite characters on it. Show them the underwear. Show the child how exciting big boy/girl underwear is. Now put the underwear on the child.

  3. Step 3

Ask about every 30 minutes if they need to use the potty.

  4. Step 4

When the child says yes, place the child on the potty. Go into the bathroom with them. Sing a song, read a book or do something that lets them sit there for a little bit. Singing the A, B, C's worked for both my boys.

If the child starts to pee pants. Take them buy the hand and place them on the potty. Tell them it is ok.

  5. Step 5

If they go potty, then let the child flush toilet. Get excited! Throw a little party, dance around, give high fives (of course, after washing hands), call grandma or grandpa and let them join in the excitement.

If they don't. Just tell them what a good try they did. Tell them next time. Flushing the toilet, only happens when they go potty. It is amazing how this is seen in itself as a reward.

  6. Step 6

Give a sticker to the child. To place on the special mat or item or self.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be excited about the process!
  • Get everyone in the house involved.
  • Accidents will happen. Don't get upset or mad, this will discourage the child.
  • Have extra underwear on hands at all time, for those just in case moments.
