The best pumpkin pie recipe. Easy to make and tastes awesome.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pie:
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup pumpkin, canned
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk, hot
  • 1 pie shell, frozen, thawed
  • Topping:
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • Whipped cream, optional
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375°. Combine 1/3 c. granulated sugar, 1/3 c. brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and baking powder. Mix in pumpkin and eggs. Add hot milk slowly; mix well. Pour mixture into pie shell. Place on baking sheet and bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

    Pour mixture into pie shell. Place on baking sheet and bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

    While pie is in oven mix together ½ c. brown sugar, ¼ c. butter and nuts. Remove pie from oven, distribute topping evenly over pie. Return pie to oven and continue to bake for another 30 minutes.

    Remove from oven and cool. Serve with whipped cream.

Tips & Warnings
  • The pie tends to run over so be sure to place pie pan on a sheet pan or the bottom of your oven will get messy.
  • If the top of the pie starts to get too brown; cover the a piece of aluminum foil.
