Trick or Treating on Halloween is enjoyable for kids of all ages and being safe doing so is a must.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Trick or treat at areas you are familiar with. Do not go to neighborhoods that you are not sure about and don't feel safe in. Being comfortable in your surroundings is part of the fun.

  2. Step 2

Inspect the candy your children get. Make sure the candy is still in its original wrapper and is not opened or tampered with. If you suspect that the candy has been tampered with throw it away. Only take baked goods from people you know and trust. It's better to be safe than sorry.

  3. Step 3

Stay in well lit areas. If you are out in the dark wear some sort of reflective clothing, that way cars can see you and your kids better.

  4. Step 4

Don't let your your children go trick or treating alone. Make sure there is a responsible adult accompanying your children.

  5. Step 5

Check local businesses that may be allowing kids to trick or treat in their store.

  6. Step 6

Educate your children about not talking to strangers.
