Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • patience
  1. Step 1

Set rules in your house. This is where you have the opportunity to be firm and let them know what is expected of them. You have to stand your ground.

  2. Step 2

When something is done that they are not supposed to do, let them know what they did wrong. Explain that you set those rules for a reason.

  3. Step 3

Set consequences. Let them know them ahead of time so they know what to expect when they do wrong. Explain calmly that they knew ahead of time what would happen.

  4. Step 4

Use other methods of arguing. It is not going to solve anything by yelling. They will never want to open up to you if you constantly yell at them.

  5. Step 5

Find something in common that you can bond with your child with. This will help you stay close with your child so that you will have less arguments that may end in yelling.
