1
Look at your veins on the inside of your arm under natural lighting. If they're blueish, you likely have cool undertones, meaning that pinks and blues work well on you. If your veins are more greenish, you have warm undertones and your skin will work well with darker colors such as brown and yellow.

2
Go to a department store makeup counter and have the attendant swipe three shades on your jawline based on your undertone and skin color.

-
3
Take a handheld mirror and walk outside into natural light to check the makeup.
-
4
Select the foundation that disappears best on your skin in the natural light.
-
5
Choose eye shadow, lip color and blush based on your undertone and skin color. Select pinks, blues and light browns for cool undertones, and golds, greens, browns and purples for warm undertones.
