Get Rid of Gasoline Odor in Carpet

Gasoline odor is awful. In this article, I will share with you a trick to get that odor out of the carpet. It is fairly easy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Allow the spilled area to dry for a day or so.

  2. Step 2

Douse the spilled area with rubbing alcohol.

  3. Step 3

Allow the doused area to air dry.

  4. Step 4

Wash the area with soap and water. Scrub it with a brush.

  5. Step 5

    Rinse.

  6. Step 6

    Allow to air dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are short on time, try using kitty litter. Pours some on top of the area and let it sit for a while.
  • Simply letting the area air out for a day or so may just do the trick.
  • Be careful not to inhale the vapors too much.
  • Be sure to wash your hands after.

on 12/11/2008 I work in the automotive industry. There's only one product that I've come across that will completely eliminate the gasoline odor. It's by a company called biocidesystems.com auto vaccine for the car and Room Shocker for the home. Great stuff and it comes with a moneyback guarantee, you can't lose.
