How to Get Rid of Gasoline Odor in Carpet

Foul, stubborn odors can make life uncomfortable for you and your guests. Using an interior cleaner, you can get rid of these odors from your home, car, and upholstery.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Interior Cleaner w/Odor Neutralizer
  • Damp cloth or sponge
  • Dry white cloth
  • Vacuum
  1. Step 1

    Obtain can of Interior Cleaner w/odor neutralizer and shake well before use.

  2. Step 2

    Spray test on small, hidden area for color fastness.

  3. Step 3

    Spray surface to be treated from 6 to 8 inches.

  4. Step 4

    Allow to soak for 30 seconds, or 2-3 minutes for deep soils.

  5. Step 5

    Use brush on outlet end of can to work a foam into soils and odors with a circular motion.

  6. Step 6

    Remove excess foam and dirt from area with a damp cloth.

  7. Step 7

    Repeat steps 3 through 6 as necessary.

  8. Step 8

    Finish by blotting area with a dry white cloth and vacuum when dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use clean cloth or sponge instead of brush for high-pile carpets.
  • Sprinkling baking soda before you vacuum is a good way to keep odors away.
  • A nationally recognized retail store is a great place to find an interior cleaner w/odor neutralizer.
