Things You'll Need:
- Time alone
-
Step 1
Sit alone in a quiet and peaceful place. Some times this is indoors and sometimes it is outdoors. A journal is a helpful tool for this process.
-
Step 2
Start with today and a frustrating moment... begin to remember other times that you felt that way. You can be organized or random in remembering, but notice what your emotions are about the events.
-
Step 3
Writing down the events and your emotions is just a beginning. Start to keep going back in your memories until you retrace the first time you ever felt that way. Breathe deeply as you experience your memories. Affirm them as a part of the past...imagine the memory fading like clouds clearing from a gusty breeze. Be in the present moment. What do you notice right now? What is around you? What about your well-being? What do you see and hear in this present moment?
-
Step 4
Don't allow yourself to get tangled up in analyzing. Just be self-aware. Accept your feelings and accept yourself and others. This practice alone will resolve alot of conflicts, troubles, and traumas. Forgiveness and letting go will be the focus of the healing process.
