Things You'll Need:
- A slab or two of pork ribs (baby back or whole)
- A bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
- 9x12 baking dish or a deep oven roasting pan (rack not necessary)
- Aluminum foil
- Salt and pepper for seasoning
- Meat or cooking thermometer
-
Step 1
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Wash ribs thoroughly in cold water and cut into pieces. Roughly 2-3 ribs per piece.
-
Step 2
Arrange ribs (meat side up) in baking dish or roasting pan. Try not to overlap them. Season them with salt and pepper on both sides.
-
Step 3
Cover pan with lid or aluminum foil. Set in center of oven.
-
Step 4
After about 2-3 hours, check on them. If they look almost done, pour on your favorite barbecue sauce. Thoroughly coat each rib!
-
Step 5
Replace lid or aluminum foil and return to oven until cooking time is complete, usually about 4 hours depending on how many ribs are being baked.
-
Step 6
Cook until internal temperature of the meat is a minimum of 155 degrees. (check with meat thermometer). For more tender ribs, allow meat to stay in oven for a longer time.
-
Step 7
Remove from oven and allow meat to rest until an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees is reached. Plate and serve with your favorite side dishes! Enjoy!

on 10/16/2008 I made a resolution to cook more this year and then realized I don't have a lot of recipes that I know how to make. This sounds like a really good dish to add to my repertoire. Thanks for sharing - my mouth is watering...lol
