How to Thread a Needle for Hand Sewing

For those of us that have been sewing forever, we don’t even think about threading a needle any more. But if you are new to hand sewing you might find this first step trickier than you expected.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Thread
• Needle

1. Cut the edge of your thread in an angle will make threading it through the needle easier.

2. 
    

   If your thread is not stiff enough to easily navigate through the needle, try wetting it or running it through wax to stiffen it up.

3. Always hold your needle over a different colored background than the color of the thread. This will make it easier to view the hole as you thread it.
