Thread a Needle for Hand Sewing
Thread a Needle for Hand Sewing

For those of us that have been sewing forever, we don’t even think about threading a needle any more. But if you are new to hand sewing you might find this first step trickier than you expected.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Thread
  • Needle
  1. Step 1

Cut the edge of your thread in an angle will make threading it through the needle easier.

  2. Step 2

If your thread is not stiff enough to easily navigate through the needle, try wetting it or running it through wax to stiffen it up.

  3. Step 3

Always hold your needle over a different colored background than the color of the thread. This will make it easier to view the hole as you thread it.
