Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A shoe box
  • Scissors

  • Tape (optional)
  • Plastic lid
  • Wet bread or fresh fruit
  1. Step 1

Cut sidways 1 inch high "H" shapes on the bottom of the four sides of the shoe box. Push the "doors" open so the opening is about 1/4" wide.

  2. Step 2

Cut a rectangular hole in the show box top and tape the plastic wrap to make a window to see if you caught any crickets.

  3. Step 3

Assemble the box placing the plastic lid with wet bread in the middle of the plastic lid.

  4. Step 4

Check for crickets through the plastic wrap window in the top. You can either take them outside or collect them for pets.

Tips & Warnings
  • Any light weight cardbord box or plastic container would work as long as it is easy to cut the doors in it.
  • Set box along wall to attract crickets.
  • Bait can be anything that is moist. You don't need much.
  • Check for mold and replace regularly.
  • Be careful with scissors.
  • Adult supervision is recommended.
