Regift a Gift
Regift a Gift

It's great to save money and our environment by regifting gifts you don't want or need. Here are some tips on how to regift a gift.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Carefully look over the item to be regifted. If it is a book, check the first few pages for inscriptions. Make sure there are no gift cards or tags with the item. Remove any price stickers the previous gift giver may have overlooked.

  2. Step 2

Regift gifts that are new. Don't regift gift items that were handmade especially for you. If you don't want these, recycle gift items by giving them to a charity like Goodwill.

  3. Step 3

Decide who would be a good recipient for the gift. Never give a gift back to the original giver. Don't regift the item to a mutual friend where the original owner may see it. Only regift a gift to someone you truly think would enjoy it.

  4. Step 4

Rewrap the gift in new wrapping paper. Gift bags may be reused if they are in good condition. Regifta gift with love.

Tips & Warnings
  • If reusing a gift bag, check for tags and other enclosures inside the bad.
  • If you can't think of anyone who would enjoy the gift consider using it for a White Elephant Gift at a party or donate it to charity.
  • You may be asked how you like the gift and where it is, so be prepared to answer.

on 10/11/2008 I love to regift! I make sure it is something the recipient would love--it is so much fun seeing something I would not use being used by someone who loves it!
