In this article in will explain how to reset a linksys router back to factory defaults.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Make sure your router is plugged into electrical outlet and receiving power.

  2. Step 2

    On the back side of router you will see a small hole not much bigger then a grain of sand.

  3. Step 3

    In this hole there is a small button that can be reached with a paperclip or pencil.

  4. Step 4

    Hold down button for 10-15 seconds until you see status lights go off then on when you are looking at the front of router.

  5. Step 5

    You have now reset router and all settings have reverted to factory default. Then factory default IP is usually 192.168.1.1. You can find more specifics on this at www.linksys.com

Tips & Warnings
  • Insure before you reset your router that you have all needed configurations backed up or written down.
