Basic things you need to do to get the best performance out of your Home Theater System

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time and a little money as your budget allows
  1. Step 1

For the Best Video performance use Satellite TV as your basic Video Source. In my opinion as and installer and designer nothing comes close to satellite TV. DirecTV is the way to go remember this, the best Cable system does not come close to the worst Satellite System.

  2. Step 2

For the Best Performance from your surround sound speakers first get all the 5 speakers from the same brand and ideally using the same exact 5 speakers for your front, left, center and left and right surround speakers can actually sound awesome.

  3. Step 3

For the best overall sound buy the best source you can afford. In other words do not buy the $100.00 DVD player because this is the place you want to scale back. The sound coming out of your speakers is only as good as your source which in this case would be your DVD player. So buy the best DVD player you can afford it is money well spent.

  4. Step 4

Best placement for you subwoofer. Place subwoofer where you would normally watch your movies and such and then put on something with a lot of sound information or a Music DVD and then walk around the room and notice at what place in the room your sub seems to sound best then place your sub there if possible if not come as close as you can.

Tips & Warnings
  • These are just basics if you guys want more in depth articles I will write more and get into more specifics.
  • Don't try to save money at all costs because while a economical all in one box system may seem like a good bargain it usually isn't, in our experience the economical stuff is usually very unreliable and my repair guys say they don't even want to fix that kind of stuff so beware.
