Things You'll Need:
- You just need a computer and a website.
-
Step 1
What the webring code will show on your homepage if put it on your website correctly.Webrings: Whatever your website is about try to get it in as many webrings as possible. Go to webring.com and register as a member. As soon as you've done that put the code on the home page of your website, then submit your website to the appropriate webring. If you actually want to pay you can submit your website to as many as 20 different webrings at a time. The cost is around $36.00 a year but you can just submit your website to two webrings at a time for free. Go for the webrings that match your website the most and have the most websites in the ring. As soon as your website is approved(or rejected) you can submit your website to another webring. Take a look at the websites in the webring you think you might like to be a part of to make sure you have a good chance to be accepted.
My website is Screaming Dean Fanfiction. As you can see it's all about fanfiction with a little bit of origin fiction so I first applied to fanfiction webrings. Since my fanfiction is mostly anime fanfiction, I then applied to anime based webrings. There's also comic book fanfiction on my website so I then applied there. I'm still not through applying to websites even though my website's part of over twenty webrings.
In order to get the webring.com Add-Onn on your website for a tripod website you'll have to go to the bottom of your site builder page and click Site Add-Ons. Then click the spot where you want the webring logo to be, then click business tools, then go to where it says, "Add Your Own HTML and click add. Then You can paste the HTML code you got from webring.com after you've signed up and copied it. Once that's been done press done. Make sure you're careful when you put the HTML code on your homepage. Getting what you copy and paste exactly right is extremely important. -
Step 2
The Big ThreeSubmitting your Website to search engines: The three big search engines, MSN, Yahoo and Google have pages for you to submit your webpage. Go to each of these websites and submit your webpage.
For MSN, http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
For Yahoo, http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request
For Google, http://www.google.com/addurl
You don't have to submit every page of your website. Just the homepage will do. And don't submit your website over and over again. These people might get offended and blacklist you. I would say submit your website to each search engine about once every three to six months if necessary.
If the search engine wants you to write a comment about your site, give them a good description with good key words. -
Step 3
Join a forum that has a lot to do with what your website is about. If you have a cooking website you'll want to join and register to the forum at a cooking network like Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef and Iron Chef to name a few. You can interact with like minded people there. If your website is about professional wrestling you'll want to go to a network or forum where that topic is being discussed. It's also very important you have a profile where you can place the url of your website.
4. There's also websites like trueview.com, trafficroundup.com., trafficswarm.com, ilovehits.com and trafficpods.com where you can put your website in a rotation with other websites. As soon as you register with them you can start viewing other's websites while others view your website.
