1
Trim any bushes and trees running along the side of your home so they are not touching the walls. Preventing the greenery from touching the walls limits the spiders' access to the house.
-
2
Seal any cracks around the house. Check your doors, windowsills and screens for any cracks or loose fittings through which a spider could enter. Seal or tighten the fittings.
-
-
3
Move trash cans away from your home. Trash draws insects that spiders look to feed on.
-
4
Pour baking soda around your home. Spiders do not like baking soda and it works as a deterrent so the spiders stay away.
-
5
Make sure your home is as clean as possible and clutter-free. Use plastic tubs instead of cardboard boxes for storage. Cardboard attracts spiders.
-
6
Once a spider has been in your home, there's a chance that it has had time to reproduce. Vacuum any areas where you find spiders to also get their egg sacs, which look like small cocoons, usually stuck to a surface with webbing.
