How to Garnish And Glaze A Fruit Cake!

A glazed garnish will make your fruitcake look more festive.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candy Thermometer
  • Baked cake
  • Nuts and candied fruit for garnish
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  1. Step 1

    Remove cake from oven and cool on rack.

    Cut nuts and fruit in appropriate sizes and shapes for decorating.

  2. Step 2

    In a heavy saucepan, heat the sugar, light corn syrup, and water until it reaches 230 degrees on the candy thermometer.

    Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  3. Step 3

    With a pastry brush, brush the glaze over the surface of the cake.

    Arrange the fruit and nuts and glaze over them.

    Allow glaze to cool completely and set.

    Wrap cake for storage. Enjoy!
