Sunburns not only hurt they can make you sick too. It is very important to try and prevent sunburns from happening. There are several ways to combat the suns burning power.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sun block
  • Shade
  • Proper clothing
  • Common Sense
  1. Step 1

When outside working or playing it is always good to use some sort of sunblock. There are many different types and strengths available on the market today. Picking the right one is important. Read the labels and be sure to pick out the one that suits your needs. Remember to follow the direction listed on the product you choose. I have found that if I follow the directions on mosts sunblocks it works much better than if I don't. With most sunblocks you need to repeat usage through out the day.

  2. Step 2

Shade is another great way to prevent sunburns if you are outside in the heat. Shade not only blocks the suns rays it also provides a cooler place to rest in the heat. Shade can be found under trees, picnic pavilions, and numerous other places.

  3. Step 3

Wearing proper clothing can prevent sunburns as well. Wearing things like hats can keep the sun off of your face and head. Long sleeve shirts will keep your arms from getting burned and wearing pants will keep your legs from getting sunburned. I have also used bandannas to keep the sun off of my head. Bandannas can also be used to tie around your neck to keep the sun off and if you wet the bandanna it can help you stay cool.

  4. Step 4

A little bit of common sense can go a long way in preventing sunburns. If you are going to be out in the sun use the proper tools mentioned above to help prevent burns.
