Things You'll Need:

  • Small pocket size note book
  1. Step 1

Window shop, visit stores that carry designer brand clothes, shoes and accessories. Become familiar with the new looks, style, colors, feel the materials, take time to try on the clothes to see which clothes will give you the best look.

  2. Step 2

Have a pocket size notebook along, make notes of what looks good on you, the colors, the type of material that fits you best, and foremost the name brands. After you checked out the clothes walk around and match up the accessories.

  3. Step 3

Look at the top fashion magazines, you don't have to spend $4.00-7.00, just go to the public library and look at them for free there. Also take note of the top brands for clothes accessories. I will also make copies of items to carry with me so I duplicate the look.

  4. Step 4

Now armed with your notebook start shopping at thrift stores, Salvation Army, Goodwill etc. Try to shop for no more than 1-3 outfits at a time, because you will be putting together total looks right down to the shoes and accessories. Look at the tags choose designer or name brands only.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not buy clothes that are damage, faded colors etc
  • Do buy clothes if all that is needed is replacing buttons or zippers. The quality of the clothes would be worth the replacement
