Watch Someone Elses Dog / Dogsitting

If you are asked to dog sit for a family or friends dog, there are some things you can do to make it a happy and easy transition for all.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find out the dogs routine and stick to it as much as possible. This will help make the dog feel more relaxed.

  2. Step 2

If the dog is coming to your home get some of the dogs chew toys and other items, so the dog feels more at home.

  3. Step 3

Stick to the dogs brand of dog food, and the amount that the dog is use to getting.

  4. Step 4

If the dog is use to a lot of affection (from kids, stay at home owner, etc.) try your best to give this to the dog!
If the dog is use to being a bit more independent (no kids, owners away most of the day) then try to give the dog his own space too.

  5. Step 5

Remove all your children's toys and any valuable items you have.
Even if the dog is house trained he may start chewing on things just from being in a new place.
