Here is a cute decoration to make for Halloween or any holiday. Using hard candy and a wire wreath, you can design an attractive door wreath that will offer something sweet to welcome your guests to your home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Round wire wreath
  • Curling ribbon
  • Hard candy in wrappers
  • Scissors
  • Decorative ribbon
  1. Step 1

Cut the curling ribbon into about 40 pieces (or more if desired) approximately 12" long.

  2. Step 2

Sit on a chair and place the wire wreath between your knees to hold it securely and leave your hands free.

  3. Step 3

Fold one piece of ribbon over the wire wreath, holding it with both ends up and equal in length.

  4. Step 4

Tie the ribbon loosely over the wire as if tying a shoelace, but do not tighten.

  5. Step 5

Place the end of the wrappers of 2 or 3 pieces of candy in the loop of ribbon and tighten the loop of ribbon around the pieces of candy.

  6. Step 6

Tie a knot in the ribbon to securely hold the candy to the wire wreath. Be sure the candy is tied snugly so the wire won't show underneath. Overlap pieces of candy to make the wreath fuller.

  7. Step 7

Curl the ends of the ribbon with scissors.

  8. Step 8

Repeat Steps 3 through 7 until the entire wreath is covered in candy.

  9. Step 9

Loop the decorative ribbon through the wreath and tie a bow at the top.

  10. Step 10

Hang the candy wreath by the ribbon on your front door.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tie the scissors to the wreath using the curling ribbon so that guest can cut off a piece of candy.
  • Use different color candies and ribbon to decorate for different holiday seasons.
  • Enlist the help of another person to help hold the candy in place while you tie the ribbon.
