A healthy diet means a healthy appetite, however often people consume unnecessary calories. This extra consumption of calories is usually your body's thirst disguised as hunger. We gain a great deal of water from the foods we eat so our bodies react with hunger knowing you will consume food that likely contains water, thus quenching our thirst. The key to suppressing an appetite is to maintain optimal hydration, and snack on healthful fruits and vegetables.

  1. Step 1

Fill your clean reusable plastic water bottle each morning with fresh cool water. Drink the entire bottle before lunch, rinse and refill the bottle. Drink all of this water prior to dinner, and once again refill your bottle. Drink the final refill of water before you go to bed to ensure that your body has had enough water throughout the day.

  2. Step 2

Take the recommended amount green tea extract according to the bottle. These pills may be taken throughout the day to help suppress appetite, but will not eliminate hunger. Drinking a warm glass of green tea prior to meals will have relatively the same effect as the pills.

  3. Step 3

Clean, slice, peel, and prepare your favorite fruits. Carry a fruit with you at all times to abate a sudden craving or hunger pang throughout the day. Fruits tend to have high water content and will contribute to a healthy water intake for the day.

  4. Step 4

Eat various vegetables between meals to avoid sudden urges for unnecessary food items. Vegetables should be packed in containers and kept cool prior to eating. Wash and prepare vegetable snacks daily.

  5. Step 5

Drink milk ten minutes prior to eating a meal, as this will help the stomach feel more full. Low fat, non-fat, skim, and soy milk are healthier than whole milk or buttermilk.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always carry healthy snacks in case you get hungry so you will not be tempted by fattening treats.
  • Do not skip meals, as it is important to consume a balanced diet to meet your nutritional needs.

on 10/6/2009 While most appetite suppressants are based on crazy drugs or exotic herbs, there is one 100% natural and best of all... cheap!
Have you heard about Yerba Mate? It contains 196 active compounds, compared to only 144 for green tea.
Researchers at the Pasteur Institute concluded " yerba mate contains practically all the vitamins necessary to sustain life".
I drink it everyday especially before meals and it takes that "crazy hunger" feeling away. You definitely eat less and you are still well-fed.
One last thing I'd recommend... if you try it go organic using the traditional way.
Here's a slide show on how to brew it : www.mymateworld.com/step1.htm

Enjoy!
