Even though hickeys happen in the heat of the moment, they do not need to be seen the next day. Hickeys are simply bruises on the blood vessels that can be seen through the skin. Here is a sure way to cover up a hickey without having to wear a turtleneck.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toothpaste
  • Makeup concealer
  • Makeup sponge or applicator
  1. Step 1

As soon as you notice the hickey on your body, apply a dab of toothpaste to the hickey. The toothpaste will actually help to heal it and get the red out of it.

  2. Step 2

After the toothpaste has sat for at least 30 minutes on the hickey, wash off the toothpaste completely. Dry off the skin.

  3. Step 3

Dab a little bit of makeup concealer onto a sponge and apply it to the hickey. Make sure that the makeup concealer matches the skin where the hickey is. After using the toothpaste, the hickey should easily be covered by the concealer.

  4. Step 4

Using the makeup sponge, gently blot in the concealer so that it is blended into the skin. The concealer should not be noticeable, as that may draw more attention to the hickey.

  5. Step 5

Re-apply the concealer as needed throughout the day using the same technique of gently blotting and blending.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the makeup concealer does not match the skin where the hickey is, it will not be covered properly.
  • The earlier you apply toothpaste to the hickey, the better chance you have of covering it up.
