The Zsnes is a great Snes emulator. Like all console emulators, you can use it to save states outside of the normal in game saves. This is convenient for those times when you just can't get to a save point or the game saves are password based. Save your game anywhere, anytime.

From Quick Guide: Classic Console Gaming
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open Zsnes.

  2. Step 2

Load a Snes game rom. When you get to a point in which you would like to save your game, go to the main menu by pressing Esc on your key board.

  3. Step 3

    Click on GAME.

  4. Step 4

Scroll down to SAVE STATE and click. It will ask for confirmation. Click YES.

  5. Step 5

Press Esc again to return to your game. On the lower left hand side of the screen it should say SAVE STATE and a number 0 to 9 SAVED. Like this: SAVE STATE 0 SAVED. Your game is now saved.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can have up to nine saves by selecting PICK STATE from the GAME menu and choosing which number you want to save your game in. Remember if you use the same number twice, you will save over your previous game.
