How to Find a Free Online Book Club

In the past, joining a book club meant that you had to go to your local library or community center to find a group of passionate readers to discuss literature with. But now, thanks to the Internet, finding a free online book club is easy and fun, and you can share your interest in reading from the comfort of your own home. Here we will explain how to join several of the most popular free online book clubs.

Instructions

1. Join the Yahoo! Bookworms Reading Group, where one book is picked and discussed each month through a message board format (see Resources below).

2. Go to onlinebookclub.org and click on "Book Forums" on the left navigation bar to converse with other book lovers. This site also offers a wide variety of free book reviews (see Resources below).

3. Join the Barnes & Noble online book club. You can post on general literary message boards or check the monthly schedule for a more directed discussion (see Resources below).

4. Try Book Crossing, one of the largest online book clubs. Once you are a Book Crossing member, you can share your books and thoughts with others on the site's various forums (see Resources below).

5. Update your contact and email information appropriately. Then choose whether you would like to receive an email every time a group member posts a message or only daily updates. Complete the security test and click "Join." You have now successfully joined the Bookworms Book Club and can immediately begin reading other members' message and making your own posts on the selected book for the month.
