Waxing the legs is a process of forcefully removing hair in order to keep legs smooth for a longer period of time than shaving or threading. Getting a salon or spa leg waxing can be expensive, but it is possible to make leg wax at home inexpensively. The legs can then be waxed at any time of day or night and as often as desired.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with ½ cup of lemon juice. Add ½ cup of water to the lemon juice and stir. Pour this mixture into a pan that can be used on a stovetop.

  2. Step 2

Add in 4 cups of sugar. Some people like substitute honey for some of the sugar. This can be done by adding in 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of honey or any other combination of the two.

  3. Step 3

Put a candy thermometer into the pan to keep track of the temperature of the mixture.

  4. Step 4

Heat the mixture and stir it with a wooden spoon. The goal is to keep it at about 230-240 degrees. Once it has reached this temperature the color of the wax will turn darker. This signals that the wax is ready to be removed from the heat.

  5. Step 5

Allow the wax to cool slightly before removing it from the pan. Once the temperature has cooled enough to keep it from burning the skin it can be taken from the pan and applied to the legs. The ideal temperature is about 100-110 when it is applied. If the wax will not be used right away, it can be poured into a bowl or jar and kept in the refrigerator until it's needed. It can then be reheated on the stove top.
