How to Create a Rainbow From Cereal
There are 7 colors in a real rainbow. They are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. When you use cereal, you can only make 6 layers--because the indigo and violet are combined for the purple color.
Things You'll Need
- Tootie Fruities Malt O Meal Cereal
- Paper plate
- Poster board
- Elmer's Glue

Instructions

1
Cut a paper plate straight across the middle. You can use a ruler to make sure the line is straight. This is your model for the next step.
-
2
Place one half of a paper plate on to a piece of poster board. Trace it and cut it out. You can't use the paper plate to make the craft because it isn't flat enough, so you can recycle it for other crafts, or throw it away.

3
Start with the outer layer of your rainbow. Pick out all of the red Tootie Fruities and start gluing them around the outside rim. That's the rim that is curved, not the straight side.
-
4
Pick out the orange Tootie Fruities and begin gluing that layer under the red layer.
-
5
Pick out the yellow Tootie Fruities and begin gluing that layer under the orange layer.
-
6
Find all of the green Tootie Fruities and glue them under your row of yellow in your rainbow.
-
7
Take out the blue pieces of cereal and glue them under the row green Tootie Fruities.
-
8
Pick out some purple pieces of cereal and glue them under the row of blue Tootie Fruities.

Tips & Warnings
Use plenty of glue so that the cereal sticks. The glue will dry clear so you won't see it.
You will need less and less of each color of cereal as you complete each layer.
