How to Evade Groupies
If you are a celebrity of any sort, you know that groupies can be relentless. Groupies aren’t the average fans. They are men and women who go to the extreme in order to get to you. This might mean waiting outside of your home, hotel or place of business in order to meet you. Unfortunately, these meetings are often aggressive, sexual and overbearing. 1
Invest your money into security. An excellent bodyguard can keep groupies from getting too close to you. Also, home security like alarms and tall gates can keep them off your property. The money required to get it all set up might high, but it will pay off in the long run.

2
Get an unlisted phone number. Groupies don’t mind calling you at home and will look you up in local and national phone directories. For this reason, it’s best to get an unlisted phone number that you only give out to people who are close to you. Then make it clear to them that it’s a no-no to give it out.

Stay in hotels off the beaten track. It will throw groupies off your trail. If you are in a high profile band, they expect you to stay in a top-notch hotel in their town. So, if you don’t, and opt for one that’s not as popular, it will confuse them. It will take them longer to find you. Also, don’t forget to use an alias when you sign in at the hotel. Make it a believable one that no one will figure out is connected to you.

Get food and services sent to you. If you are out of town and need a little privacy, stay in your hotel and get your food and services sent to you. A lot of restaurants deliver. Also, manicurists, masseuses and clothing designers don’t mind coming to the aid of a celebrity, especially if they get to talk about it later.

5
Dress up in a disguise when you go out. A good disguise will help you evade groupies. So, if your hair is blond, go out as a brunette. Wear a style of clothing not akin to your image. Put on a pair of eyeglasses and change your facial features. For women, this could be a change in make up and an addition of a mole. For men, this could be the addition of a mustache.

Get a good driver. A person who knows how to maneuver a car can help you evade groupies. As soon as he sees a few on your track, he will be able to take a few back streets and lose them. Also, the fact that you aren’t driving will keep your face hidden and groupies won’t know it’s you in the car.
