The gadgets available for your Google homepage are almost endless. Not only does Google itself provide a slew of gadgets, you can even select from an enormous variety of gadgets created by fellow computer users. The procedure to install the gadgets is easy and fast, but the process of actually going through each gadget to see if it will fit your needs can be lengthy. The following steps explain how to pick the best gadgets for you.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Access your Google homepage and email account.

  2. Step 2

View the presented gadgets. On the upper right of your page, there is a link titled “Add Stuff.” This opens the main page of the gadgets.

  3. Step 3

Narrow your search. Locate the latest and most popular gadgets. If you want to see the newest or the most used ones, click on the links provided on the upper left side of the page. You can sort the page among “Hottest, “Most users” or “Newest.”

  4. Step 4

Find the gadgets by categories. A fast way to separate all of the possibilities is to use the category lists. Below the “Sort by” option you will see several popular categories to click on. If you want to see all of the gadgets in any of the groups, simply click on it. This will open a new page with gadgets specific to the selected category.

  5. Step 5

Look for particular gadgets. You can hunt for them by using the search box on the upper right of the page. Type in the word(s) for the gadget you would like and click on the “Search” button. If there are any gadgets (either from Google or users), they will be displayed.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use the link “See all” found next to the “Editor’s pick” to find the gadgets selected by Google editors. It is located on the upper right.
  • If all else fails and you just cannot find what you want, you can create your own gadgets. To do this, click on “Try now” under the section “Create your own gadget” on the right side of the page.
