Paper plates are great for making crafts. Glue sticks to them easily and you can manipulate the paper plate into forming another shape. This craft will teach children how to use a paper plate to create a paper plate fish bowl. This craft can be done with a group, yet each child can create his fish bowl in a different way. Children can then hang their fish bowls in a row and enjoy each others creations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Use a ruler to draw a straight line across the top of your paper plate. Cut across this line with your scissors. You now have a fish bowl shape.

  2. Step 2

Paint your paper plate blue or color it in completely with markers. This is the fish's water. Give the paint time to dry before continuing.

  3. Step 3

Cut out a bunch of tiny little squares from construction paper. They can be all different colors. Glue them along the bottom of the plate. These are the tiny rocks you find on the bottom of fish tanks.

  4. Step 4

Decorate your new fish bowl with fish and aquarium stickers. They sell them at any craft store. If you can't find any, you can always draw them on construction paper. Cut them out and glue them wherever you want them on the fish bowl.

  5. Step 5

Use a piece of sticky putty on the back of the paper plate and stick it to the wall. Enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have sticky putty, roll a piece of tape into a circle. Stick one end to the paper plate and one end to the wall.
  • Make sure you cover your tables with newspaper so they don't get ruined when the children begin to paint.
  • Make sure children are wearing an apron or a smock so they don't ruin their clothes when they begin to paint.
