How to Rent a U-Haul Online

1. Visit the official U-Haul website (see Resources).

2. Browse down to the "Moving Equipment" tab. Double click on the tab.

3. Review the moving truck guide for sizing and utility information. Select a model to view full details for the truck.

4. Review the capacity, dimensions, fuel, features and recommended items provided for the truck. Determine if the truck is the appropriate size.

5. Contact 1-800-GO-U-HAUL to speak with a customer servive representative.

6. Scroll to the "Rates and Reservations" link at the top of the page. Double click the link.

7. Get a quote. Select a pick-up date; determine if you will use the truck "in-town" or "one-way."

8. Enter your zip or city and state. Press "Continue."

9. Select the U-Haul only option; or select to include an additional trailer or cargo van. Press "Continue."

10. Press "Continue" to confirm the information.

11. Add additional items, such as boxes and other rental supplies or opt to not include these additional items. Press "Continue."

12. Bypass the option to order boxes and other rental supplies by clicking on the "I do not need packing and shipping supplies" tab.

13. Click the "I do not need help moving" tab, unless you would like to contract a moving company.

14. Click the "I do not need storage" tab, unless you require a storage unit.

15. Verify the equipment pick-up date and pricing information. Click the "Complete this reservation" tab.

16. Sign in as a new member to continue.

17. Complete the billing and payment information and then agree to the terms and conditions of the contract. Click the "Complete this purchase" tab.

How to Rent a U-Haul Truck in Store

18. Contact U-Haul to reserve a truck by phone. Provide a model type and pick-up date.

19. Reserve the truck by phone.

20. Confirm the store location. Visit the store location with your credit or debit card to complete the purchase. Your credit card information will be billed once the vehicle is returned, as mileage and rental costs must be added upon final receipt of the vehicle.

21. Ask to view a truck model to spotcheck dimensions and confirm utility.

22. Sign to authorize the transaction.

23. Return on the pick-up date to retrieve the truck or arrange for delivery service.
